Bucephalandra Theia Blue Rhizome - Tropical Planted Aquarium Plant

Description

Bucephalandra is a genus of rheophytic herbs that are endemic exclusively to the island of Borneo.  They make excellent terrarium and planted aquarium specimens.

Care
Theia Blue  is easy to grow, even for beginners.  The leaves of this variety are large and round.  They exhibit moderate ribbing.
CO2 injection will yield the best long term performance for submerged growth.
My bucephalandra is grown in CO2 enriched water and fertilized using the “perpetual preservation system.”  (You can google that.)
Growth Habit and Size
Leaves vary in color but generally present a blue leaf with red and green shifting undertones.  The rhizomes are red.
This variety is a larger sized buce - on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the smallest and 10 being the largest, this variety of buce is a 8.
Propagation
Like all bucephalandra, this can be propagated by cutting the rhizome.  Propagation should be attempted only on mature plants.  (I advise against buying 1 rhizome and immediately attempting to propagate more.  You are better off letting the rhizome grow out for 6 months and then propagating from there.) x
Converting to Submerged Growth
The plant you receive has been grown emersed (i.e. out of water).  If you are planning to use it in a planted tank, it will have to go through a transition period of 30-60 days.  During this transition, there will be some melting and reabsorption of leaves.  Do not worry. Eventually, the plant will produce new leaves that are better suited for underwater growth.

These plants are warranted to arrive in good condition.
We will only send you a replacement plant if you send photos of the plants completely melted within 2 hours of the first delivery attempt by the carrier.  There will be no cash refunds and no returns due to phytosanitary best practices.
It is normal for the plant to go into a little bit of shock during the conversion to submerged growth… The care of the plant after it arrives to you is completely your responsibility as a hobbyist.
