    Here's an early hand thrown redware pottery "corker" jar from the 1860s....  ..no embossing....Hand thrown on a potter's wheel......6 1/4"tall.....redware with a dark manganese lead glaze.....wide mouth cork finish....it has several chips around the rim & base, but no cracks.
