    Description

    Scarce 4 page leaflet, the first sheet is a printed form with one name corrected and addressed to Bradley Blakeslee (?).  At the quarterly meeting of the M W Grand Lodge, a list of 19 lodges were declared to be in arrears for due two years and upwards, their payment neglected and thus their warrants were declared forfeited.  Additional names in the next paragraph who had openly disavowed their allegiance to the M W Grand Lodge of the State and associated themselves with an illegal and self formed body. Their signatures appeared on the "report of the committee of 16" dated June 11 1849 thus now designated as Rioters, a false and wicked statement given of the eventful 5th of June 1849......resulting in an unwarranted and illegal organization.

    The 3rd page with the name and address of Bradley Blakeslee Esq. Addison  Steuben Cty New York( the entire piece was folded as this served as the envelope, it has been postmarked "New York Dec 24 in red ink 10 cents).   A former owner has made a notation in pencil. see photo
    The fourth page is a letter handwritten by James Herring Dec 23,1850 to Blakeslee:  The warrant of Addison Union No. 118 having been declared forfeited it has become my duty to demand from you, as the last Master certified to this office, a surrender of said warrant.....with the Jeweler books and all other property which I now do.  You are requested to forward the warrant to me by mail..... an inventory of the property for the disposition of the......

    A collectible piece of Masonic history and Postal history. Posted and with a bit of sealing wax that has pulled away a small circle  (not affecting any text or manuscript)  A small embossed stamp "P&S" Old creases, only some pin point size losses along the folds.
